In the past two days I have spent 9 hours on a coach, 1 hour navigating the London Underground, 3 hours on trains, 1 hour in taxis plus 4 hours walking across London trying to avoid taking the Tube. Not because I don’t like the Tube, more because I am stubborn and would rather limp on my dodgy ankle and marvel at the delights of London.
This was all for a very exciting day I enjoyed yesterday. I haven’t spoken much about my placement, and nor will I begin to now. I had my induction yesterday and all I can say is I am very excited to begin work there in Summer. Suddenly my degree does not just feel like the avoidance of the real world I sometimes think it is! In fact I am seriously considering my life post-graduation (only two years away…) and planning the clearance of my room. Maybe I’m getting carried away, I may well find myself back at home after I graduate. I doubt however I will find myself back in my old bedroom which has been pretty much claimed by my younger sister. Good on her!
There is so much work to do at the moment, and a long way to go, but I’m really pleased with my situation, it feels like the previous hard work is begining to pay off.
